Suffolk Meadows was developed by Mr. Viola and Mr. Iuliano from farm and wooded acreage to a 240 dwelling community. The properties are nestled between Nansemond Parkway and Shoulders Hill Road with a railroad right-of-way separating two sections. A large lake (Lake Ipswich) on Suffolk Meadows Boulevard makes for a nice view. The neighborhood also offers a community ball field, three common park areas, two playgrounds, a basketball court and a walking trail. The homes feature several architectural styles and in 2016 are appraising between $216,000 and $396,000.
In October of 2002, the community transitioned from the developers control to homeowner control with the election of it’s first five member Board of Directors. In 2016 a long awaited train quiet zone was instated to eliminate the need for passing trains to blow their horns when passing through the neighborhood.
The management company is Property Management Association. The neighborhood has continued to improve over the years with ever constant upgrades to homes, parks, landscaping, and even the occasional festival or community event. This website maintains the board meeting minutes for the public to review as well as an archive of documents homeowners may need to fulfill activities such as building applications and payment information.
